Advancing Gender and Social Inclusion in Regenerative School Food Systems: GESI Working Group Workshop

The Regenerative Food Systems Alliance's Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Working Group held its first workshop bringing together members of national Communities of Policy and Practice (CoPPs) and their networks.
The session explored why gender and social inclusion matter for regenerative school food systems, with contributions highlighting the importance of integrating gender considerations into school meal programming and policymaking. Participants heard a case study from India and were introduced to a framework for developing gender indicators to support research and programme design.
The workshop marks the beginning of a series of knowledge-sharing and learning sessions through which the GESI Working Group will bring together members of national CoPPs to discuss approaches to strengthen GESI in their work.
Watch the workshop recording to explore the discussion and learn more about applying GESI frameworks in regenerative school food systems.
Interested in joining a future GESI Working Group workshop or contributing to its activities? We welcome members of CoPPs and their networks to get in touch at info@regenerativefoodsystemsalliance.org.
